Window of Tolerance in Healing

Do not fall for quick fixes as a lasting solution to healing. Be patient and see your progress as you heal. Instant healing is possible, yes. More often than not it takes time as it is a process. If you are not use to having uncomfortable emotions and you have numbed yourself for a long time or you are in state of fight all the time, it may take a long time to develop and increase your “window of tolerance”.

One of the goals of doing continuous therapy sessions is to essentially broaden this window of tolerance which is increasing capacity for people to hold emotional experiences (even intense ones) without becoming dysregulated or going into a state of hyper or hypo arousal, or simply, without becoming overwhelmed and finding healthy containment.

Note that trauma is not only a result of physical abuse. It can be the result of one intense or repeated mental abuse. As such, therapy works by unpeeling each layer of the trauma without retraumatizing the client, teaching them internal and external resources to empower them and increasing their window of tolerance.

Use your own intuition and do research to know what is best for you. Book for clarity calls. You will be surprised how much you can gain from it.
